Hunter Wellingtons Glastonbury Festival Tips
Etiquette:
- Respect: Respect yourself, respect your neighbours, respect the environment. Take pictures, leave only footprints.
- Possessions: Things go missing- by your own stupidity or theft. If you don't want to lose it, leave it at home.
- Talk to your neighbors: Scratch their backs and they'll challenge people who look like they're eyeing up your welly boots.
Clothes:
- Wellies: To anyone who has been to Glastonbury, taking a set of Wellies (Hunter Wellingtons) is sound advice. Even if the forecast is for sunny weather don't leave things to chance. You don't want Trench Foot.
- A hat: sunstroke is horrible and very easy to get when enjoying the moment.
- Socks: Take more spare socks than you need.
- Tops: One long-sleeved top that you can wrap around your waist. It gets chilly when you stop dancing at 6am.
- Water: Absolutely essential.
- Dry fruit & nuts: Just like camping these are great for energy, vitamins, minerals, proteins, and fibre.
- Biscuits: Excellent stuff and great for late night munchies.
- Remember they have food stalls, so you can pack less.
- Bin bags: Incredibly useful, from storing rubbish in to making a poncho.
- Sunscreen: This will save your skin from third degree burns.
- Toilet rolls: You want to wipe your bum, don't you? You can never have too much.
- Wet wipes: Brilliant for a quick wash in the morning. Even if you not showering, your friends don't want to smell you.
- Toothbrush: Buy two and throw them away afterwards.
- Torch: Don't forget the spare batteries. You will need to find your way back in the dark.
- Padlock: For your tent zip. This should deter petty theft.
- Mobile phone: Turn all settings down. During the day wrap it up and store in a deep pocket to save juice.
- Flag: Why you ask, taking a large flag will help you to identify your campsite. Nothing worse than trying to locate your tent that 1,000 other people have.
- Camping location: Water runs downhill and collects at the bottom. Paths are close to drunk people and Toilets smell, so think before you set up.
- Money: Keep it with you at all times!
- Cold: Jo Banana's Blanket Stall sells good blankets for as little as £5.
- Tent and Sleeping Bag: Check them for holes before you go! Make sure you have enough tent pegs too.
- Hammer/Mallet: How else are you going to put your tent pegs in. I have known people to have forgot, but a kind neighbor was there to help.
Want to see the dawn through, the Stone Circle is the place.
Looking to chill out, explore, or discover new things The Green Fields, Lost Vagueness Fields, Healing Fields and the Family areas are all great places to try.

Hunter Wellingtons for Dad
I'm entering this Hunter boot competition for my dad, who goes through a few pairs of wellies a year. My family live on a small holding in Carmarthenshire, South Wales, where we are flooded in around 20 times a year. My Dad (Mick), bless him is out all weathers in his welly boots! I have attached a photo of my dad, braving the floods, and also one of my 'lane' flooded.

An Ode to Hunter Wellingtons

Perfect for splashing in puddles.
To get things off you chest.
I have a pair of Green ones.
Which make me look quite posh.
I'd love another brighter pair.
Just simply don't have the dosh.
Having been a little bit poorly.
My daily walk is my fave.
I lose myself in the countryside.
And try to remain strong and brave.
So another pair of Hunters.
Would beat the winter blues.
And I'll be twitter charm personified.
If you do, indeed, me choose.

Rock V Festival in Hunter Wellingtons
Rock your Hunter Wellingtons a this years V Festival on 22nd-23rd August 2009 held at Weston Park. Weston Park is a remarkable house set in 1,000 acres of Brown parkland with a rich history dating back to the Domesday Book. The principal survivor of those times is the park which now forms part of the Medieval deer forest.
The V Festival has been going strong for 11 years now and they still continue to deliver some of the worlds greatest artists with this year being no different. If you are among the very lucky who have a ticket to this sold out event you will be enjoying the likes of Oasis, The Killers, Snow Patrol, Elbow, and Razorlight to just name a few.
Whilst the music is guaranteed certain elements such as the British weather is not, so be sure to travel as light as possible and only pack the essentials. Take some warm and waterproof clothing, even in summer the weather can take a turn for the worse and being soaked to the bone and caked in wet mud for 2 days is not going to be a pleasant experience for most.
Most of all don't forget to take your Hunter Wellies, sun cream, wet wipes, mobile and a torch is paramount. At night it is virtually impossible to spot your tent amidst the thousands of others, even an impossible task in broad daylight, not forgetting the number of guy ropes you'll end up tripping over if your torch is forgotten
A festival experience can be something exhilarating to look back on and to tell the grandkids about in years to come.

Festivals, Families and Hunter Wellies
Festivals, Families and Hunter Wellies are on the increase as the rave generation hit their 40s. A number of summer music festivals like the Big Chill, Gulifest, Green Man, Womad and the Latitude are catering for families with a children's arena, to keep those little Sunflower Pixie Rosepetals busy while you enjoy the live music.
Here are some Festival tips for parents:
1. Make sure you want your children with you. You will miss out on some things and may like to bring a nanny. Not an expensive child minder but your gran or a friend or Lot's of friends who can share the childcare.
2. Try to travel light, most essentials will be on site. But do not forget to pack those Hunter Wellies, not only are they fashionable but functional too. Trench foot is not good for parents or children! Not forgetting to pack plenty of wet wipes, these are great for everything.
3. Write your Mobile number on their arm with a maker and point out steward in high-vis jackets who can help them if they get lost.
4. Pick the right festival. The websites will let you know which ones have stuff on for kids. Remember there are always a few unpleasant aspects to festivals wherever it is: big crowds, loud noise, drunks and undesirables.
5. Play them some of the bands you are likely to hear at the festival. Recognizing the music will help add to their enjoyment.
6. Take plenty of snacks and drinks- festival food tends to be pricey, spicy and involve a long queues.
7. Research your festival carefully-some offer play groups and creches.
8. As soon as you get their check the map so you know where the toilets, wash areas and emergency facilities are.
9. Wheelbarrows or a Radio Flyer Wagon these are a good way to get tired kids back to the tent.
10. Try to get a pass which allows you to park close to where you are camped so you don't have to walk for miles back to your car.
11. Invest in some noise reduction headphones for your children they even come in pink or lime! Check out this site we found Peltor Kids.
12. Enjoy yourself! Even if your child moans for the whole weekend- as soon as they get home they will be telling their friends what a brilliant time they had and which famous celebrities they spotted!
